We invest behind technology-enabled companies that dominate a growing niche in the market — generally in distribution-led or IP-led businesses. The distribution-led businesses derive their edge from branding and reach of consumer or financial products, such as discretionary brands or underserved financial services institutions. Other examples include one-sided or two-sided networks like exchanges, marketplaces or classifieds. The IP-led businesses include complex API manufacturers, SaaS companies and other manufacturers that typically solve a crucial but small component of their clients' business, making them well-entrenched with customers.
